Pflugerville Gears Up for the 49th Annual Deutschen Pfest

There’s something special about events that bring a community together — and in Pflugerville, that tradition shines bright every fall. The 49th Annual Deutschen Pfest returns October 17–18 at Pfluger Park, celebrating nearly five decades of German heritage, local pride, and family fun.

A Weekend Full of Community Spirit

What started as a small town celebration has grown into one of Pflugerville’s most beloved events, drawing visitors from across the Austin area. This year’s festival promises two days packed with live music, local food, and plenty of “Pfun” (because everything’s a little more Pfun in Pflugerville).

From the ever-popular stein-holding contest to authentic German tunes in the Biergarten, there’s no shortage of entertainment. Visitors can enjoy local brews served by community nonprofits, cheer on contestants, or catch college football on a massive 16-by-10-foot screen.

Fun for the Whole Family

Families will love the Wunderpark, featuring carnival rides, pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, and the always-popular Touch-A-Truck exhibit. Children under 6 get in free, making this the perfect weekend outing for parents looking to make lasting memories.

Getting There

To make things easy, Pflugerville is offering free shuttle services:

  • Friday, Oct. 17: From Pflugerville High School (1301 W. Pecan St.)

  • Saturday, Oct. 18: From The Pfield (1440 W. Pecan St.)

Accessible parking and ride-hail drop-offs will also be available at Gilleland Creek Pool.

(Note: Gates are cashless, and personal chairs are welcome. Pets, coolers, and outside food or drinks are not permitted.)

Live Closer to the Action

Events like Deutschen Pfest are a great reminder of what makes Pflugerville — and the greater Austin area — such a vibrant place to live. From its strong sense of community to its mix of local culture and fun, Pflugerville continues to grow while keeping that small-town charm.
