Monday, August 17
Start the week with live music around Austin. Cosmic Country with Chasen Wayne & the Honky Tonk Machine kicks things off at Radio/East at 6:30 PM. Over at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard, Blue Monday Blues Jam keeps a longtime East Austin tradition going from 7–10 PM. You can also catch Jason Schmidt with Haven Madison at 29th Street Ballroom, with doors opening at 7 PM.
Tuesday, August 18
Tuesday brings plenty of variety. Willow Avalon’s Pink Pocket Pistol Tour, featuring JD Clayton and Slater Nalley, comes to Historic Scoot Inn starting at 5 PM. Later, Santana & The Doobie Brothers bring the Oneness Tour to Moody Center at 7 PM, while Austin’s own Bill Callahan takes his My Days of 58 Tour to Radio/East, with doors opening at 7 PM.
Wednesday, August 19
Looking for something heavier? DevilDriver brings the Strike and Kill Tour to Come and Take It Live with Upon A Burning Body and Ov Sulfur at 6 PM. At 7 PM, Styx & Chicago bring The Windy Cities Tour to Moody Center. For a more interactive night out, head to Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge for Nineties Karaoke hosted by Bee, starting at 9 PM.
Thursday, August 20
Take a break from concerts with a special 35th anniversary screening of Boyz n the Hood at the State Theatre, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Live music is also on the schedule with Alexi 8bit, Dose Rose and Novus Rose at The Far Out Lounge & Stage and Travis Bolt at Antone’s, both starting at 7 PM.
Friday, August 21
Kick off the weekend with three different live shows. Brenn! brings the Amateur at Best World Tour with Tom Siletto to Historic Scoot Inn at 6 PM. St. Lucia takes the stage at Emo’s at 7 PM, while Sarah and the Sundays with Montclair perform at Antone’s at 7 PM.
Saturday, August 22
Saturday has options for both big-stage concerts and late-night performances. Dirty Heads and 311 bring the So Glad You Made It Tour to Germania Insurance Amphitheater starting at 5:30 PM. Suxxy Puxxy’s Puxxypalooza takes over Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge beginning at 6 PM with live music, a DJ set and drag performance. At 7 PM, Raq Baby brings the Robert Johnson Tour to Brushy Street Commons.
Sunday, August 23
Wrap up the week with Girl Guitar at Antone’s at 2 PM. Later that evening, Tenants, Dednamez, Bug and Boo85 take over Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge starting at 7 PM, while The Queers perform at Come and Take It Live at 7 PM, with additional bands to be announced.
